Dream Theater - Through My Words + Fatal Tragedy [LIVE in Israel, 07/19/11]


The infamous Progressive Metal phenomenon Dream Theater, are back in Israel, in a show that took place on the 17th of July 2011, in pavilion 1, at the Exhibition Grounds in Tel-Aviv. That's actually the band's second visit in Israel (the first one occured on the 16th of June 2009). The band, which consists of highly skilled Barkley-graduating musicians, became one of the most important and influencial acts in modern rock music and Progressive Metal in particular, came to Israel during their first tour with new chosen drummer Mike Mangini, that took the role of one of the band's founding members, Mike Portnoy. The video shows the band performing the song "Fatal Tragedy" along with the introduction of "Through My Words", both taken from their 1999 cocnept album "Metropolis 2: Scenes From A Memory". The album is the sequel to "Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper", a song previously featured on Images and Words. It was also the first album to feature Jordan Rudess on keyboards, and was the last album for which John Myung wrote lyrics until their 2011 album A Dramatic Turn of Events. The album deals with the story of a man named Nicholas and the discovery of his past life, which involves love, murder, and infidelity as Victoria Page. In "Through My Words", Nicholas realizes that he was Victoria in his past life, while "Fatal Tragedy" describes how Nicholas finds out about the murder of Victoria back in 1928, after hearing about the incident from some mysterious old ...
